What services does Combs Brothers provide?
The basic services Combs provides are: downstream sorting, trash dock design and consulting, oil filtering, food scrap recycling and asset recovery. Essentially, Combs can help you reduce your trash disposal costs and help your sustainability efforts.
How big does your facility need to be to warrant a downstream recycling service?
Combs Brothers has a wide range of clients from two trash compactor pulls a week to two+ a day. We are happy to audit your waste stream to help you decide what services your business requires.
Does Combs Brothers report the weight of the recycled commodities?
All the commodities that Combs separates from the waste stream are either weighed or estimated based on current and reasonable estimations. You will receive a monthly diversion report that shows total weights of each commodity compared against your trash compactor weights.
How did Combs Brothers start?
The brothers were raised on a pig farm in Las Vegas that began operating in 1964. Recycling was a way of life. The farm was built on the principle “Waste not, Want not”, and they lived by it. The pigs were fed food scraps from the casinos. The brothers worked on the family farm and in the family business since their childhood. In 2004, the brothers began their own business focused on similar services for the casino industry.
Do you only work with resort hotels?
No, Combs has a variety of customers. Most of them are hotels across the valley, but we also work with restaurants for oil filtering, and food manufacturers who have a large amount of food waste.
What do you recycle?
That is up to the client. Some commodities are more valuable than others, so there may be costs associated with certain recyclables. The most common commodities are cardboard, PET and aluminum. For businesses looking for diversion rates over 30%, we suggest food scrap recycling.
How many employees do you have?
The Combs Brothers staff includes a well-trained team of field supervisors, drivers, recovered asset counters, recycling technicians and administrative staff. On average, we employ 250 people in order to service our customers 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
How long have you been in business?
Combs Brothers started in 2004.

What type of reporting do you offer? How often?
All of Combs customers receive a monthly diversion report. The monthly diversion report includes the tonnages of all the commodities recycled for every location, and is compared against the tonnages of refuse sent to the landfill. This gives our customers a percentage of recyclables recovered from the waste stream. The report is uploaded monthly to our portal where our customers have secure access to the data and can run specialized reports.
The recovered asset reports can be viewed live on the same secure portal. We also have the ability to send an automated email every time our customers assets are counted and recorded.
